Aunt Bette’s Baked Beans: A Family Recipe for More than 150 Years

Pre-soak beans for 8 hours. Drain and rinse.


  • 8 cups of water
  • 1 Honey Glazed Ham bone
  • 2 lbs. Great Northern beans
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. pepper

Bring to a boil; let simmer for 3 hours.

Remove bone and excess broth from top of beans and add the following:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Honeycup mustard
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. horseradish
  • 1/2 to 1 cup molasses
  • 2 onions, diced

Todd’s Almost-Famous Pea Soup

Pick up a soul-satisfying bowl ready-made or grab a pot and start simmering!

In a large soup kettle, combine:

  • 1 Honey Glazed Ham bone
  • 3 lbs. navy beans (lentils or split peas)
  • 16 cups water
  • 3 medium onions, diced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 garlic buds (optional)

Bring contents of pot to a rapid boil. Lower the heat and let simmer for 3 hours. Season to your particular taste and grab a spoon!
